How to:  Get your Vlog started

I see it everywhere, starting with myself.

We all ask for opportunities to do this or that and possibly get denied when in reality we are missing the point that we can create the exact same or possibly even better opportunities ourselves.

Take, for example, my artist self. Why search for an art gallery, collective, or group, for them to "give me the chance" and review my portfolio and after time, effort and emotional energy invested, have them deny my work, for just the possibility of them (maybe) accepting  my work for it to be seen, ....when I can simply show my work, whenever, out in the street.

I know the work is good and it will get attention. I know I might make a sale. Why wait. Why deny myself from the immediate opportunities that I CAN generate myself? If someone is looking for art, they will make their way to me and find it.

I'm not saying ditch all other possibilities, but so often i feel (me) and people I know, forget that we DO have the possibility to generate our own opportunities.

Many artists, entrepreneurs and people I know have dropped their dream because of some idiot (or idiotic organization) who chose not to give them a chance.

How about this: YOU give yourself a chance. Stop knocking on someone's door. When they see what you can do, they'll open up and invite you in ;)

Escaping the App life.

Technology is wonderful, I get it. I have a phone that does everything, an ipad that does the same but with a bigger screen, gadgets here and there that take care of pretty much everything, from grocery shopping to entertaining me when I'm bored, to even saving me from walking places with my own two feet
.
Little by little I've gotten more and more tired of wasting my time online. From social media sites, to email checking, all the way down to spending too much time texting. I noticed it keeps me away from enjoying the moment I'm living, with whomever is around me, as opposed to ignoring who I'm with so I can stay in touch with whom I'm not.

Realizing how much I'm depending on these gadgets the most basic activities of daily life, I'm going to make an active effort to try and cut down on my digital time, and limit my use of it just for work and/or absolutely necessary evils.

Maybe that way I can get back to painting more, working out more, and even just enjoying whatever might be happening right in front of me, instead of looking down at my phone.

Happy New Year! ;)

1/1/2016

2016 is here.

So, 2016 has arrived, and I just want to wish you all a great year. I'm not a resolution type of guy, but I do set goals and love to see them through rather sooner than later, and so I wish the same to all of you.
With the passing of life and new experiences and "growing up" I find myself wishing different things as part of a happy new year> I'm wishing things such as financial stability, love, and peace, serenity and clarity. I guess I'm really getting old.
The days of just senseless partying and craziness seem to me, at least for now, not very appealing. Bigger goals are what I get excited about, creative projects and perhaps the possibility of meeting new people, people who have a vision and execute it. That seems exciting.
Anyway I wish to you all the best ;)
