In this traditional living room, since working in a smaller space, I have limited the use of accent tables and pieces that might clutter the room. The colorful sofa becomes the focal point of the space along the mirror and demilune, while the light toned rug, as well as additional seating bring peace and space to the rather compact living room.

In this Living room concept, I brought the space to life with a casual modern vibe through the use of classic pieces.
I created two very different room concepts, with the exact same items except for the addition of the chandelier in the more modern concept. For from an open bedroom space, I chose to go with a color combination that is a perfect balance between masculine and feminine energy.
Approximate cost including all items pictured is $26,000, only furniture, about $12,000. In these design options, I combined the contemporary seating option with italian lighting as well as an italian marble and blown glass coffee table.
AfterVisualizationBeforeAfter building on the idea, I generated a few iterations building upon what my clients were dreaming their space to be, you can see the drawing visualization, which was later brought to life perfectly! Below you can see some of the suggestions I made to the clients. This space was entirely transformed when we shifted the sofa from the main living space to the den. The sofa was too large for the main living room, however it was the perfect size for this space. With some custom color pillows, we brought up the color from the art in the background, and took advantage of a niche above the storage to create a fun recessed lighting detail using some items found from travels prior that were long forgotten in the basement. In this diagram you can see how I created the map with the proper path to later get the electric floor heating installed for this project.
In this project, I worked with mostly the items the clients had. By repositioning them in the space as well as getting accents such as the tall mirrors, pillows and a couple new pieces more, I was able to refresh the home as well as brought a new energy to it entirely.
With the mirrors, I achieved making the space even larger and allowed the feeling of the windows only being on one side of the room to disappear. |
